From one man’s disobedience, sin entered the world. At the beginning, God created everything beautiful and good but because of sin everything in this world became corrupt and wicked. For many years people from the past keep on sinning and doing bad things that could not please God. We know that God is Just, and the punishment for our sins is death not just physical death but eternal death in hell. We all deserve hell and there are no exceptions. Before we stepped into this world we were in the bondage of sin. Even innocent babies and children are going to hell. Isn’t it sad that when we die we all go to hell? Imagine all the pain and sufferings we can experience there. Even though we are aware of these things we keep on doing things that are wrong in the sight of God. As we can see in our present world, people are finding satisfaction, finding joy in their lives. Their minds are set in one vision, and that vision is to find their true purpose in life but they couldn’t find it in this worldly perspective. That is why they are craving for fame, wealth, and power in this earth. This is where hatred, jealousy, pride, and lust would start. And these things could not please God. Many young people are doing drugs and alcohol to “escape” reality, some are doing immorality because of rebellion, and some are selling their flesh to gain money. We cannot count the bad things that we have done. We are under God’s grace that is why until now we are alive.
Some people do not know what the true meaning of Christmas. Many are enjoying the food that they are eating, some are thinking that Christmas is all about giving and love, some are doing charity works and feeding the poor. But we really don’t know what the significance of this celebration is. Children nowadays see Santa Claus as the star at Christmas. Of too much celebration and parties we forget the little baby lying in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes. His name is Jesus, the promised Messiah and savior. He is the king of kings. But this kind of King was not born in an extravagant palace nor lied down in a comfortable bed. But was born in a manger where animals live. It shows the humility of a king.
But it never stops there; the true meaning of Christmas is where God sent His son Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. Even thought we are so wicked and sinful God still loves us with His everlasting love. That is why we should be thankful for what God did for us.
When I first saw the video “The Bridge Master”, my emotions mixed up, Like, First I was full of tears. Tears because it shows that how the father loves his son so much that he will never let go of him even though many people are in big trouble. But the father has a choice whether to save his son or the people in the train will die. He has one choice and that choice would affect his life forever. I love the symbolism of the video where the father symbolizes God the Father, the son symbolizes Jesus Christ and the “blinded” person inside the train represents us people. The video reflects how we live on this earth. It shows us that there is no perfect person on this planet. People in the train are doing something that is wrong, like doing drugs, committing suicide, people who are lonely, blinded by sin, people who are angry, selfish, and persons who are experiencing deep sorrows. There is one question that strikes in my mind when I saw this people, “why are they blind?” it really breaks my heart. This person inside the train deserves consequences. On the other hand a small innocent boy standing beside the river near a bridge not noticing a train would pass by. When I saw the boy it makes my heartfelt warm, seeing the joy with his father, not knowing that death will arrive in his life in a few moments. In the part of the father, not knowing that the train is approaching the bridge a little sooner he didn’t realize that his son is inside the boat. And through that he would make a choice. I felt so sad at first when the father made the decision that he saved the life of the people in the train rather than his son whom he loved so much. But that decision that the father decided made me realize that even though his son died in that tragic incident he saved many lives. I’ve seen the attitude of the father he never thought of himself first but thought of what will happen to those blinded people if they die without knowing the truth.
“ For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16. Wonderful verse! It is amazing that God shows his love through Jesus His Son. The verse relates what happened in the video. The son reflects the life of Jesus. It is said in the bible that a savior will be born and will die to save His people. I realize that Jesus is our true Savior. That is why we are celebrating Christmas, celebrating the birth of Christ but some people did not know that Christ was born to die and to save us. Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus accepted that her son will be born and will suffer at the cross. People at the past (before Jesus was born) will kill a clean lamb to sacrifice; it serves as their payment for their sins, these people are longing and hoping for a perfect sacrifice that will cleanse their sins forever. And the time comes that Jesus was born in a manger. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice He is without blemish, and without sin. He is the king that will save us. What a king! It all happened at the cross at Calvary. Jesus knew that He will die because His Father planned it all ready for us. He is ready to die because He loves us so much. It is said that He is the king of the Jews. He suffered at the cross with His blood dripping at the ground, He was hurt so much, He was mocked, He was spitted along the way, and He was punched by roman soldiers. He bares all the pain, he was crowned with thorns and He was put into shame. He cried out in a loud voice “My God why have you forsaken me?” God was looking above, watching His Son suffer. God never ask His angels to go down to save His Son but He let Jesus suffer the nails that was on His hands to pay us from our sins. Jesus never thinks of Himself but He was so concerned for what will happen to us if we die. All I can say is that Jesus loves us very much! His grace abounds and His mercy endures forever. He covered our sins by his redeeming blood. Every drop of His blood drops the forgiveness of our sins. How wonderful knowing that Jesus shows His love by dying at the cross. He came from Heaven to earth to show the way. Until Jesus’ last breath, the earth trembled through an earthquake and the sky darkened for hours it only signifies that Jesus conquered sin and death. How amazing! Jesus did not only remain dead but was raised after 3 days. He is the real God! We are the reason that He gave His life; we are the reason Jesus suffered and died. To a world that was lost He gave all He could give to show us the reason to live.
Therefore, this Christmas we should not forget the true essence of it. That God sent His son Jesus to save those people who are blind and under the bondage of sin. Let us thank God that he saves us. We should bring back the Glory to Him .God loves us so much. Let us be reminded that Christmas is not all about gifts, toys, food, and fun it is all about the precious gift that God gave to us and that gift is priceless without a cost, and it’s free!
